MARCH'S BLOCK LOTTO: MOUNTAIN VIEW
Hey Friends! It’s time to check out what the Inland Empire Modern Quilt Guild has going on for our March Block Lotto! I’ve designed a foundation paper pieced block for us. It’s called Mountain View. I wanted something that’s really easy and that uses jelly roll strips. I like foundation paper piecing but I don’t like pre-cutting lots of tiny little pieces that get lost. If you don’t have jelly roll fabric on hand you just need 2.5” strips for all the fabric in the Mountain View block.
Click here to down load the Mountain View block template and basic instructions. Included with the block pattern are some samples of how to sew the blocks together in horizontal & vertical patterns.
If you’ve never foundation paper pieced before click here for an awesome tutorial by Violet Craft & Rob Appell. Thanks to Ruthann from IEMQG for this great resource.
Mountain View blocks will be collected in May for our Block Lotto raffle.
Here’s a sample of 4 Mountain View blocks sewn together.
Here’s what the block looks like in black and white.
